Exercise Scope: | Tabletop Exercise (TTX) lasting 2.5 hours that involved four (4) training modules that took exercise participants through the initial response; conditions that worsen & evacuation; and finally sustained threat and advanced planning. |
Threat or Hazard: | Fires intentionally set in critical wildfire risk areas throughout the City of Irvine. |
Exercise Scenario: | On November 8, 2021, under a mild-to-moderate offshore Santa Ana wind condition, intentional fires were set at several wildland interface (High Risk Fire Area) locations throughout the City of Irvine. |

Exercise Objectives: | Establish liaison - Unified Command; Establishment of school ICS and/or school EOC; Identification of school “decision points” for evacuation vs. shelter-in-place; Assessment of school alert & warning and public information capabilities; and to revise and update written protocols through influence and discussions during the exercise. |
