On November 16, 2023, the Emergency Preparedness Interagency Collaborative (EPIC) and their invited guests conducted a tabletop exercise (TTX) that focused on building the framework - preparing for, responding to, and recovery from a MCI at an after-hours high school football game. With 85+ participants, the TTX was broken into 3 modules over a 3 hour period. Each participant was placed at 1 of the 5 function groups (Security, Fire/Medical, Public Information Officer, Evacuation, and Mass Care/Reunification). After each module, each table group reported out to the larger groups their talking points, challenges, and possible solutions during the unfolding MCI.
Thank you to the University of California Irvine (UCI) - Emergency Management Team for hosting this year's TTX and to Vanessa Flores (Deputy Director of Emergency Management at UCI) for facilitating the TTX and keeping the groups engaged.
